Peer Pressure

Family pressure. Friend pressure. Neighbor pressure....whatever. When you try to live "differently" from others some of them get defensive or make fun of you or do something to make you feel silly whether intentional or not. You become "those weird people". It usually doesn't matter, but sometimes you start questioning your values and goals. Just remember
Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held it's ground. -Anonymous

  1. I personally think that "different" is how most of us should live in today's world. If we are not different and just go along with the crowd, I don't think that we are living up to our potential and we are just being followers. There comes a time in life when you need to know what you want for yourself:). Hold your ground!

  2. stick it out! you never know who you are "evangelizing" along the way.

my sister's friends always gave her a hard time about a million things (politics, food, being green). even though she and i have a lot in common, i used to think she was extreme about her anti-consumerist ways, but she is making a convert out of me. it takes a long time to change attitudes and behaviors, and even when people don't share your passions, they may esteem you without your even knowing. and if they don't, who cares? i know, easier said than done...
