Balancing Act

I went in for a balance today. That's hippie speak for energy work. That's also hippie speak for....ummm...voodoo.

I love getting balances! It's like taking all the things that are stressing you out and causing physical/mental/emotional symptoms and removing the stress so your body can heal. What I love is that I always learn great life lessons after I have a balance. So, what did I learn today?

What I love about the gospel is that we all have the spirit and we can all receive our own revelation. I also love that I don't have to answer to anyone but God. I love that every challenge we have is an opportunity to grow. I love that I can pray to God but that He also blessed me with a well functioning mind so I can make my own decisions and learn from them. I love that He knows when to let go of my hand and when to hold it.

I've been second guessing myself because of some things people have indirectly said about the way I should live. My balance helped me to let go and be present in my own life instead of making others live it for me. So many times I think we worry about how to be a good mom, or a good wife, a good sister, a good worker...whatever. Maybe there'd be a lot less stress if the focus was on being a good "me".
